The Watson Theatre Eatery Opened Today!

The Watson Theatre - A Local Eatery

The Watson Theatre Local Eatery opened today!  People lined up 10 minutes before the doors opened at 11am, and there was a line around the counter through the lunch rush.

We had guessed that they would be super busy at lunch time, so we planned for a late lunch, arriving at 1:30.  There was still a small crowd - but plenty of open sitting.  There's not a lot of parking on main street, so we parked back in the lot by the grocery store, and walked up the alley, just as we did may times as kids, when going to the movies.

Today's special was a mini sub with fountain drink, chips and a pickled for $5.59

The entrance is the small door on the far left.  You walk in, order at the counter, get your drinks, and then seat yourself.  They call your number when your food is ready, and you return to the counter to pick it up.

There are 9 tables, and from my rough count, it can seat approximately 36 people.  Some of the tables have booth style seats.

Eventually the wall on the one wall, behind the bathrooms,  will be knocked out to expand the seating, and the theatre part of the building, on the right,  will be open for events

The menu is small, and simple, as it should be for a small eatery!   It offers a nice selection, and the prices are VERY reasonable!

We ordered the gyro, and the haddock sandwich.  Both were very good.

A better look at the gyro

Our meals were made quickly - there was very little wait, even on their first day open, and with a fair amount of customers still arriving, well after the lunch rush.  The staff were all friendly, and efficient!

The Gone With The Wind movie posters are displayed on the wall inside the double doors.

They are open for dinner as well, with hours from 11am - 8pm currently.  They sell a small selection of alcohol as well.

All in all, we liked it very much, and will definitely be back!  It's a great spot to meet friends for coffee (plain, from a coffee pot, nothing fancy - but GOOD coffee) and to grab a nice lunch!
