Kayaking At Rose Valley Lake

This lake is a lot larger, and a lot rougher, than Montour Preserve. There is a little bridge you can kayak under to go a smaller section.. it's a nice place.

There are porta potties here, not bathrooms.

We took the bikes along on this trip, but other than right on the roads, which do not have much visibility, there are not a lot of places to bike here.

A bald eagle flew right in front of my kayak over the lake. :-)

Maps, and directions to the lake:

DIRECTIONSFrom US 15, exit unto PA 14 and follow PA 14 into Trout Run. In the middle of town, turn right (east) onto Trout Run Mountain Road. Go 2.5 miles and turn left (north) on Rose Valley Road. Go 0.6 mile and turn right (east) on Trimble Road. Go 1.25 miles to the lake. After 1 mile, turn left (north) on Lake Road. Follow this road around the lake for about 2 miles to Rose Valley Road, where you can turn left (south) to return to Trout Run.
