Buttonwood Covered Bridge

The Buttonwood Covered Bridge

41°30'35.9"N 77°07'48.5"W
Located on Route 816 over Blockhouse creek in Buttonwood, Lycoming County Pa.
It is a queenpost & kingpost timber bridge, built in 1898.
The bridge is 74 feet long and 19 feet wide.




Local lore says that this bridge was washed down stream during a major flood in the last century, and that after the water receded, the bridges was hauled back to the original site by horses.  


The bridge was added to the national register of historic places in 1980
