The Grand Opening  was held Thursday March 25th, 1926. 

It was located in the Patriotic Order Sons of America building.

"W.R. Buckley of the Capitol Theatre in Shamokin goes with a free car contest and in 1935, it draws a huge crowd"

In 1974, the Capitol was demolished.  By 1977 -   "Mid-Independence St Parking Lot.  Deteriorated Capitol Theater demolished to construct this much needed facility."
