"Bells across Pa is America250PA's statewide art series in which local artists adorn and magically transform fiberglass bell sculptures in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026. Ameerica250Pa will place 108 of these bells, sponsored by businesses and individuals, across the Commonwealth to highlight each of our 67 counties."

In 1975 and 1976, in preparation for the Nations' Bicentennial, towns and cities around the nation painted their fire hydrants in patriotic colors, and as soldiers and minutemen. Some towns held painting competitions, or held "Paint A Plug" days.

As part of America250PA's preservation mission, the Commission hopes to place bronze, permanent commemorative Semiquincentennial Bells across the Commonwealth to highlight historically significant locations.

The National Bell Festival invites bells across America to ring out together on Independence Day, creating a canopy of sound to mark our nation’s 250th birthday. Cathedrals and churches, community organizations and historical structures, national parks and memorials, and people from coast to coast are encouraged to gather and contribute to the sound.
