Take A Sunday Drive - In the Milton Area

This drive through Washingtonville, Turbotville and Milton will take you past where the hidden log cabin was found in Washingtonville, the Fort used in the Revolutionary War in Turbotville, two covered bridges, an octagon one room school house, a traditional one room school house, and you will even see Elk on a nearby farm.  There's a map, and a list of addresses, at the bottom of this post.

As automobiles became common in many households through the 1920's and 1930's, Sunday afternoons were often a time when families drove around the country, with no particular destination in mind, just to see the area.  These drives were popular still with most of our grandparents, and they sometimes packed a picnic and found a place to stop while out.

These days we rarely drive without an exact destination in mind. This route will give you the general feel of the traditional Sunday Drive, but with several specific sights to see along the way.  It's a loop, and should take approximately an hour to complete if you follow all of the stops.
