The Factory School

701 State Route 101, New Columbia PA
(On the white Deer Pike, right at the entrance of the White Deer Trailer Park)

In the Lewisburg Journal February 10 1911, there is an article about a "township institute".  Teachers, pupils, patrons of the schools of White Deer Township met in the Lutheran Church, New Columbia Pa, for the purpose of holding a township institute.

A variety of speeches and performances are listed, from several schools, including a "Solo by Duida Okch of the Factory School"  (There is a  a typo in the paper - it should read Ouida Koch)

An article in the Sunbury Daily Item, May 17 1958, tells s that "in addition to 42 years total of teaching, she also taught summer school at the Factory school house.  Only two teachers two taught Miss Koch at the Factory school are believed to be living.  They are Clyde Confer and Floyd Huff."
