Fall Brook Falls - The Upper & Lower Falls

The Lower (harder to get to) Fall Brook Falls

Fall Brook Falls is a set of two very different falls in an abandoned park near Blossburg Pa.

Parking Coords - 41°40'42.5"N 76°59'21.9"W

When we first arrived at the parking area, it was full of trucks - apparently this parking area is a popular spot for the workers to have lunch.  We pulled up and spoke with them, and they said it was no problem for us to walk back, we would not be in their way at all.  The parking area is pretty overgrown and grassy, but even with the trucks there, we had plenty of room to pull our car in.  (Do not block the gate!  Normally it will be closed.)

From there it is a very short walk to the first falls.  The path will lead you right up beside them.

Up to your right, you will see a large area where picnic tables once were, but they are all gone now.  Just some metal fencing along the trail remains.

Although there were no picnic tables left here anymore, we found a couple of low flat rocks with a really pretty view were a perfect spot for our picnic.

A stone in the creek is carved with a name, and Morris Run 1936
You can see this stone when you are standing at around 41°40'38.7"N 76°59'18.4"W

Then we headed on our the trail, and down the hill into the creek.  The hike down is a little steep and slippery.  Not terrible, but not something to do in flip flops either.
Then you just walk up the creek.  It's a bit of a scramble, but not too far, and not too difficult.

We couldn't see the falls when we first walked into the creek, but we didn't have too walk far to see them.

And you can get right up to them without too much trouble.  Just a bit of scrambling.  I think Dan kept his feet completely dry.  My feet were wet, but I was not trying to stay out of the water.

The water here is pretty orange in spots, and that makes the rocks very slippery.  Be careful.

The Fall Brook Acid Mine Treatment Area is right past the falls -
