How A Small Town Band From York Stole Christmas

In November of 2018, a three man band from York PA,  with no recording label, no manager, and no radio support, became famous almost overnight, for their  cover of the song,  You're A Mean One Mr Grinch

The band, Small Town Titans, posted a facebook video of their cover of "You're A Mean One Mr Grinch.".  Within days, the video had gone viral.  The song charted on  various billboard charts, and reached #2 on the iTunes Rock charts (surpassed only by Queens Bohemian Rhapsody) In As of Dec. 10, 2018, the video had 24 millions views and more than 700,000 shares.  Here's Small Town Titans first public live acoustic performance of their hit holiday single "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch", live on ABC 27's Good Day PA - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fsbu6BICZA

"Frontman Phil Freeman captures the film’s essence with greasy, yet defined vocals reminiscent of the Grinch himself. The rest of the band’s heavy influence makes their rendition of “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” a fitting choice for your not-so-traditional family festivities."  https://www.altpress.com/news/metal-cover-grinch-small-town-titans/

Phil Freeman, Jonny Ross and Ben Guiles met while attending Lebanon Valley College, more than 8 years ago. The unsigned band uses a Patreon page to accrue funding and support from fans. The Small Town Titans release some sort of content every week for their fan base. They say that they take influences from rock legends such as Foo Fighters, Audioslave and Deep Purple.  A year after their video went viral, the band continues on their own terms, with no still relying on social media, rather than a manager or record label.
