Ficks Hardware is my favorite local hardware store. It's a great old fashioned full service hardware store, where the staff greets you as you walk in, and will help you find whatever you came for.
But it's also practically a museum of vintage local signs and memorabilia You never know what you are going to see here!.
Some of the signs, like this one, have photos or descriptions
The K.M. Foote Store was open in the 1940s in Coudersport Pa.
There are screen doors, and even car doors, hung on the wall.
Harvey Gardner General Hauling, Danville PA
I found newspaper ads for Williamsport Mirror & Glass from 1910 to 1960.
In 1938 the address appears to be 315 Railway Street, Williamsport
Sometimes the signs, like this one, are on loan
Sterners Store was located in Dewart Pa.
While you are checking out the signs, be sure to check out the Cleaners aisle too - they have the best selection of the old tried and true cleaning products.
This Ford Sign (grille?) is one of my favorites.
Trout Pond Park is still open, in Hughesville Pa.
The menu & prices have changed a bit over the years. :-)
I don't know the story behind these signs from Milton, Lewisburg, Northumberland & Vicksburg...
John H. Boger had a Coal, Feed, & Fertilizer store
in Anneville Pa, in the 1940's and 50's.
