The Tharptown Christmas Display in Coal Township

713 Center St, Coal Township, PA 17866

The Tharptown Christmas Display Opening Day will be November 27th 2021, with a festival being held that day.  The display will remain through the New Year.

If you are headed to Joy Through The Grove at Knoebels, this display is just 10 minutes away.

The Tharptown Display is done by one family.  Typically there is a festival, which offsets the costs, but this year that had to be cancelled.  The family still put up the display, using their own funds to cover the costs.  There are donation boxes on site.

This isn't the biggest, nor the fanciest display in our area (although there is a LOT here) and yet, it's definitely one of my favorites.  Our kids loved Sesame Street when they were little, and now my grandson loves Sesame Street.  And here they are, posing in a trash can with Oscar.

That's hard to beat.

It's a fantastic display, full of wooden cut outs and photo opportunities.

There are live reindeer you can feed, in a pen at the back of the display.  (you can just make it out on the left in the back of the photo above)

And just so much to see!

The display is typically up through the first week in January, but watch their facebook page for details. https://www.facebook.com/Tharptown-Christmas-Display-509386969416137/

When we first got out of the car, I thought this was a food truck.  Slightly disappointed that it was not - but what an awesome display!
