Sterner Hotel, Selinsgrove PA

Hotel Sterner, 17 N. Market Street Selinsgrove

Originally the Keystone [1875], this hotel re-opened in March of 1924 as the Hotel Sterner.  It became Bj's restaurant in 1991.

In 1923, The Sternbrush Motor Compmany opened a showroom in the closed Keystone Hotel.  The company was short lived, dissolving in January of 1924, when Harvey Sterner bought out his partner, J.F. Radenbush.

They Keystone Hotel was purchased by Harvey Sterner, owner of a shoe factory.   The interior was then extensively remodeled from top to bottom.  When the hotel opened in 1924, each of the 22 "sleeping rooms" had hot and cold water, and most of the rooms had private baths.

In addition to the dining room on the first floor, the hotel had a soda fountain and restaurant in the basement.
