Roaring Creek Covered Bridge

Roaring Creek Covered Bridge

There are many covered bridges crossing Roaring Creek in Columbia County, but this one appears to be specifically named "Roaring Creek Covered Bridge", in Catawissa.

This 1868 Photo, looking down from the Bluff above the Paper Mill, shows two covered bridges in Catawissa.  one, in the foreground, crossing the creek, and one in the background, crossing the river.  The one in the foreground is likely "Roaring Creek Covered Bridge", but I won't know for certain until I do more research.

  1. Bottom view is at Catawissa, looking north. Bridge in foreground is crossing Catawissa Creek. Covered bridge across the river was destroyed in 1875.

  2. The foreground bridge, crossing Catawissa Creek, is on the road to Riverside that passes beneath the Catawissa Bluff.
