Orange & Blue May 1957 - The Watsontown High School News

 Watsontown High School, 1957

This volume is 29 pages long, followed by a blank page which is covered in signatures, in typical yearbook fashion - although this was not the yearbook, bur rather a newspaper, or magazine.   This particular edition was Volume 27, Issue 5,  dated May 1957.  It includes jokes & stories, and crossword puzzles, lots of sketches, engagement announcements and after graduation plans,  and the class of 1958 wrote blurbs & even limericks about the senior class members.

I've photographed all of the pages and included them here, then I added a variety of newspaper clippings and photos of the class of 1957 as well.

"The Cover of this issue of the Orange and the Blue was drawn by Marie McCormick.  The Orange and Blue staff would also like to extend their thanks to Mr. Tomlinson for making the covers.  They added an attraction to this years papers." - Page 29

Watsontown High School was located right beside the bridge, where Lingles Grocery store sits today.

"The Watsontown F.F.A. chapter plans to take a trip to Niagara Falls.  They will visit dairy farms all throughout the trip; also, they plan to attend a baseball game at Pittsburgh on the way back.  The money for this trip was secured by the boys selling seeds.  This trip will not only be a vacation, but an educational program as well.  The F.F.A. also held an enjoyable skating party last Tuesday - Dale Lose, 57
