Fourth Street no longer continues past the school The railroad closed that part of the road in 1911, and when AC&F expanded, building part of the plant across the street. At that time, the old Episcopal burying ground was moved as well.
The school is located on the site of the old Episcopal church
The noise from the AC&F factory was so loud that the windows in the back of the school were bricked shut.
1970 was the last year the building was used as a school. There was hope at that time that it could be turned into a community center.
On February 15th 1972, AC&F purchased the school for $22,500. They turned it into an office building for their company.
