In July of 1949, a 3 day dedication of the Montour County World War II Memorial was held in conjunction with an "All Home Days", at Memorial Park in Danville.
Inside the WWII memorial you can read the 1,600 veterans names on tablets fastened to six pillars, inscribed beneath a copper dome.
The names of 51 honored notables are carved in white marble.
