Big Falls in State Gamelands 13

Sullivan County is FULL of great waterfalls, many of them outside of Ricketts Glen, and therefor, a lot less crowded.  In 2018, after a year of almost constant rain, we made several trips to see some of these waterfalls, and unfortunately, I did not take notes.  So 6 months later....  I'm glad my photos are all geo-tagged at least!

There is an excellent article here, with better instructions and directions -

All I can tell you for sure is that we were geocaching, we packed a picnic, and we saw a Salamander.  :-)  Oh, and it was October, so the gates were open - making it less of a walk to many of the falls in this area.  From the article above - "This rutted dirt road is only typically open during spring turkey season (roughly the month of May) and during the fall hunting season (roughly mid-September through the end of the year). "

The incredible amount of rainfall in 2018 caused massive flooding in this area, and there were roads that were closed due to flood damage, making our trips here less "efficient" than they would have been in other years.  Where we probably could have seen all of the waterfalls in this area in one day easily, we took a couple of trips, and still have not made it to all of them.  That's ok - we can go back.  This area is less than an hour from us.
