Numidia Speedway

1964- to current day
6,000 persons turned out for the opening night races on August 23rd, 1964.    Attendance averaged 2000 for other Saturday night and Sunday afternoon races throughout the fall of 1964.

In October of 1964 the Locust Township Supervisors announced that they would charge an amusement tax of 10 percent on Dragways Inc at Numidia, effective January 1 1965.

Sanctioned by the NHRA by 1965, Roy Fink and Ellsworth Shultz were two of the early strip managers. Dragway Incs offices were in Catawissa Pa.

On April 25, 1965, Bruce Larson was a featured racer. 

"Dandy Dick Landy" raced his 1965 Dodge Coronet in July of 1965.

On August 15 1965, Numidia Dragways hosted the World Championship Series Regional, [points meet] for the NHRA.  Racers from seven states participated in the event.

The first annual banquet was held Saturday January 22nd 1966, in the Fraternal Order of the Eagles building .  Darwin Doll, Northeast division director for the National Hot Rod Association, and Jack Redd, associate editor of the Eastern Dragway News were in attendance.

On July 16, 1967, the dragway featured the Joey Chitwood Thrill Show in addition to the regular drag racing program.. In 1967, the regular racing program was held every Saturday night with time trial racing every Wednesday night. 

On May 13, 1967, Ron Rivero drove his "Frantic Fueler" fuel dragster to a new track record of 215 MPH.
