The Oley Schoolhouse, Watsontown PA

A 1908 Sketch Of the Oley School in Watsontown Pa

In 1868 the "Oley" lot was purchased from S.M. Miller for $250 and a school house built by Jonathan Kramer, contractor.  A school bell was purchased that same year for $28.

The schools first year of operation was 1869.

In 1879 the teachers at the Oley School were Miss Mary Buck and Miss Fannie Piatt

In 1880, the town proposed adding a second story to the school but the walls were found to be too light.
