Rupert Hotel By Everett & Connor, Proprs, Rupert Pa
Map Of Ruperts
Rupert is in Montour Township two miles south of Bloomsburg, at the crossing of the Catawissa and Lackawanna & Bloomsburg railroads, near the mouth of Fishing Creek. It has several neat dwelling houses, one tavern, a store, a blacksmith shop and a marble works. Its most important industry is the paint mill of Henry S. Reay, which with the railroad depots make it a well known point. It is easily accessible, convenient to the Aqueduct grist mill of Paxton & Harriman, and, the extensive powder key manufactory of W. M. Monroe. [1]
