From the Record & Star February 13, 1891  - The White Deer flouring mills will be sold at public sale on Monday, March 2.

In 1891 Captain Bly purchased the White Deer Flouring Mills.  The mills are located near the mouth of White deer Creek, ad the food of White Deer Valley, "in a village which takes its name from the mills and the creek."
