The White Deer Flour Mill

White Deer Flour Mill

From the Record & Star February 13, 1891  - The White Deer flouring mills will be sold at public sale on Monday, March 2.

In 1891 Captain Bly purchased the White Deer Flouring Mills.  The mills are located near the mouth of White deer Creek, at the food of White Deer Valley, "in a village which takes its name from the mills and the creek."

The Grist Mill burned down in 1928.  The walls were torn down in 1934.

A white deer grist mill burned to the ground in 1921, but this appears to be a DIFFERENT White Deer Mill.  It was located at the "furnace" (Iron Works) 3 miles west of White Deer.
