During the last part of 1953, and all of 1954 into the first part of 1955, this schoolhouse served as a church building for a group of Mennonites from Lancaster County who helped establish a mission congregation in this area. It had no indoor plumbing. Eventually, a church building was built on the Clarence Zeager farm about 3 miles away, and was called the Beaver Run Mennonite Church. This new building was dedicated in the spring of 1955 and is still standing. The congregation eventually outgrew that building and built a larger building near Milton called Community Mennonite Church.
Just saw this school for the first time while riding my bike. Do you have any history or details about this school house?
