The Nicely School (Watsontown)

 Nicely School, Delaware Township Pa
The Nicely school was at rt 405 and Musser Lane across from the Nicholas farm.
The roof caved in in 1999, and the building no longer is there.

In 1899, Miss Katie Confer opened a summer school in the Nicely School building.

I believe this sign says 1913

Labeled only "Dewart School" I think this is the Nicely School, but am not certain.

Back Row, Left is Walter Huffman
Front Row, on the right is Verna Yoder Hartranft

In February 1926, "a number of people from town attended the candy box social" held at the Nicely School House.

On January 27th 1927, the Miltonian reported that Miss Esther Schroth, teacher at the Nicely school in Dewart, "is vindicated of charges of assault and battery from corporal punishment inflicted upon Paul Fogelman" [Corporal punishment of a student].

Frank Nicholas purchased the school for building for $910 on Aug 24, 1946, at public auction.
