High Rock Falls is relatively easy to get to, being less than half a mile from a nearby parking area, along the High Rock Trail. However, the trail takes you across the top of the falls, and we really could not find any safe way to view it from the bottom.
The Runs at the top are really pretty too.
To park, take the road from the State Park Visitors Center - Cabin Bridge Road -and cross the Loyalsock Creek. Turn left across the bridge, where you will see several picnic tables, and a parking area. 41.4706751,-76.5789331
Directly across from the parking area are two trail heads - take the High Rock Trail. Although it starts out a little steep (not too bad) the trail levels out and for most of the way walks along a ridge. It's very rocky, but not at all a difficult trail, for anyone who hikes regularly.
Still, this is not a sidewalk, nor is is a flat walking path - this is a trail, along a rocky mountain side. After a day of climbing down the sides of slippery muddy mountains, this was a nice change for us.
The trail brings you to a bridge over the waterfall.
From there you can walk down a very short distance onto a large rock, but we could find no safe way to go further down.
Although we've hiked to Cottonwood falls in the park many times, I had no idea this waterfall was here! I'm guessing that it is no more than a trickle during the summer normally, but this was a week of very, very heavy rains.
